Summer is a great time of the year! Perfect weather for a barbeque or a trip to the beach!

While we spend time outside we need to be
Sun Smart!


Being in the Sun for a long time can cause us to get some nasty sunburn,
so we took the time to learn about how we can avoid it!


To help remember we learnt the words

which means SLIP on a shirt, SLOP on some sunscreen, and SLAP on a hat.
 
Firstly we practiced how to SLOP sunscreen on our faces, necks, arms and legs using water!
 


We already had our shirts SLIPPED on! So next we SLAPPED on our hats all by ourselves!

 

Another great way to avoid the harmful sun’s rays is to stay in the shade! All the kids had a great time hiding from the sun in the tents we set up!


 It was a great way to mix learning with fun! And a great way to become SUN SMART!
So the next time youre out in the sun, don’t forget to
SLIP, SLOP, SLAP!
